While responsible and moderate drinking isn’t detrimental for people with diabetes, we’d understand if you want to cut back on it or take it away from your diet. Fortunately, being sober doesn’t mean being boring. There are plenty of non-alcoholic “adult” drinks that won’t disappoint your palate and your pancreas. Here are some of them.
Pomegranate Cranberry Mocktail
With pomegranate aplenty in winter, this bubbly drink is a great option for the cold months. You’d require pomegranate juice, unsweetened cranberry juice, orange juice, ginger kombucha, and some crushed ice for this. To make it completely alcohol-free, you can replace kombucha with sparkling water. It tastes good without the added sugar!
Grapefruit Sage Sparkler
If you love the somewhat sweet, sour, and bitter taste of grapefruit, this refreshing, fruity recipe is perfect for you. You’d need to simmer the grapefruit juice with sage leaves in a pan for a few minutes, but the entire process is still quick and easy.
Sparkling Raspberry Limeade Mocktail
Just pour all the ingredients into a blender and process until well mixed. Dress up this mocktail with lime slices and extra berries for extra flavor and fun. In less than five minutes, you have a healthy drink to make your conversation with a friend or chitter-chatter with your kid more exciting.
Strawberry Basil Margarita Mocktail
The original cocktail recipe includes tequila, but you can use club soda or lime-flavored sparkling water instead. Adding original basil into the strawberry and lime mix gives this citrusy drink a refreshing taste. Garnish it with lime, basil, and/or jalapeno for more flavor (and some heat).
Sparkling Watermelon Agua Fresca
After processing the watermelon chunks, lime juice, and mint leaves in a blender, pour the mixture into your serving glass with sparkling water and lime slices. Yes, you only need four ingredients to make this refreshing, go-to summer drink.

Cantaloupe Mint Sparkler
You’d also need a blender to liquify the cantaloupe and mix it with lime and maple syrup well, as well as a muddler to mash the mint leaves to release its flavor. Top your serving glass with sparkling water, garnish with fresh mint, and you’re ready to celebrate.
Cucumber Gin Fizz Cocktail or Mocktail
This easy and flexible recipe gives you several suggestions to support your current diet. For a mocktail, simply omit the alcohol. You’ll still have that perfect sweet, sour, and zesty taste from the cucumber, lime, mint leaves, ginger root, and club soda.
We think these flavorful mocktail recipes can help you transition into your booze-free diet. Which one are you trying first?
