Mornings can be hectic – take it from a busy mom with diabetes – and it is hard to find the time to prioritize a nutritious breakfast. Having some of these options on hand will keep your blood sugar in check and won’t sabotage your weight-loss efforts. All of these can be made within minutes and contain enough protein to keep you full for hours!
Here are some of my favorite low-carb, easy to make, breakfast options:
Morningstar Farms Sausage, Egg & Cheese Frozen Breakfast Sandwich
This is a huge breakfast choice for someone who is looking for a vegetarian, plant-based rapid breakfast that will keep you full until lunchtime. The meal contains vegetarian sausage, eggs, and cheddar on a entire grain skinny Enligh muffin, and it will only cost you 200 calories. With just 17g net carbs and 15g of protein, it’s a great way to begin the day.
Sweet Earth Frozen Protein Lover’s Breakfast Bowl
Containing only 18g net carbs, this vast vegetarian-based bowl of eggs, potatoes, and vegetarian sausage is a delicious option that can be made in minutes in the microwave or oven. It packs 20 grams of protein and is a little steep in calories coming in at 280, but for people looking to pack on the calories and protein, this is a great option.
? Birch Benders Gluten-Free Keto Frozen Waffles
These are a favorite of mine and one I can even get my daughter to eat. These light and fluffy waffles will not spike your blood sugar and are delicious. Two waffles only contain five grams of net carbs, and they’re gluten-free too! It’s a great way to sneak some fiber and protein into your little ones.
Catalina Crunch Keto Cereal Cinnamon Toast
Another staple in my pantry is this delicious keto cereal. Before I found Catalina Crunch, it had been sooooo long since I’d enjoyed a bowl of cereal without worrying about my blood sugars. So this is a real treat! With only 5g net carbs per serving, I can enjoy a quick breakfast again or grab a bag as a snack for the day. They have many other flavors that are also totally delicious.
Dave’s Killer Bread Organic 21 Whole Grains and Seeds Bread
This bread makes a really superior morning toast. I’ve been using this bread since it was recommended to me and find it delicious and easy on my blood sugars. Each slice is 9g net carbs, and if you put a smear of peanut butter on it, you have a quick and tasty high-protein breakfast that will give you energy throughout the day.
Two Good Low Fat Lower Sugar Strawberry Greek Yogurt
I really like a lot all the flavors that Too Good Yogurt has to offer. They combine natural and alternative sugars to balance flavor and healthiness. A cup of the strawberry flavor has only 80 calories, 3g net carbs, and a whopping 12g of protein! Sometimes I mix in something yummy and crunchy, like peanuts or Kind Bar Clusters, to add extra protein and flavor.
Fairlife Core Power Chocolate Protein Shakes
If you are someone who doesn’t like to eat a lot early in the morning – or if you are in such a hurry that even toast takes too long – this delicious shake will still give you the nutrition you need to start your day. With only 170 calories, 26 grams of protein, and only 8g of net carbs, this is a seriously powerful way to fuel yourself on the run.
Ore-Ida Just Crack an Egg, Denver Scramble
This brilliant little breakfast kit has Applewood smoked ham, cheddar cheese, diced potatoes, green pepper, and onion. All you have to do is add an egg! Consider using egg whites or an extra egg for more protein. Within seconds you can have an omelet that tastes restaurant-quality! And coming in at 190 calories, 3g carbs, and 9g of protein, you can’t go wrong.
Garden Lites Veggies Made Great Spinach Egg White Frittata
These frittatas are packed with spinach, tomatoes, onions, and red bell paper and I promise that they’re nice and fluffy and delicious. This is a great healthy choice with only 70 calories, 5g net carbs, and 5g of protein. It’s also gluten-free, so a perfect breakfast choice with for anyone living with celiac disease or gluten insensitivity.
Beyond Breakfast Sausage Links
Calling all vegan keto lovers! Beyond Breakfast has come up with breakfast sausage links that contain only 130 calories, 3g carbs, and 8g of protein. This all-protein meal will be sure to keep you full and keep your macros in check too!
The meals listed above are all options for a quick healthy breakfast. They are all low-carb and will allow you to start your day on the right food in terms of both blood sugar and weight management. You can also rest assured that these meals take no time and you won’t be tardy for your morning meeting!
